Title: Green Process Innovation for Net-zero Carbon

Prof. Suojiang Zhang is an expert in chemical engineering, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He currently holds the positions of the Direct General of Institute of Process Engineering, CAS, and the President of Henan University. Prof. Zhang is mainly engaged in the research of green energy, materials, and process engineering. He proposed new concepts such as Z-bonds, quasi-liquids, and reaction micro-zones of ionic liquids (ILs), and the Infinite Separation Principle. He has also developed a number of green processes such as ILs catalyzed CO2 to carbonate, cellulose spinning, and MMA clean process. Prof. Zhang has won several national and international awards, including the Second-Class Prize of National Natural Science Award of China, the TWAS-Award in Chemistry, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award.
